Young Dolph Was Killed in a Shooting in Memphis in November 2021 Young Dolph, Crip Gang Affiliate, Shot and Killed Young Dolph, a rapper from Memphis, Tennessee was shot and killed on November 17, 2021 at Makeda’s Butter Cookies, a bakery he frequently visited. Young Dolph, whose real name was Adolph Thornton Jr., was 36 years old at the time of his death. Young Dolph was known for being affiliated with the Crips gang, specifically the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips. He frequently referred to his Crip affiliation in his music and social media posts. However, his murder does not appear to be gang related. Details of Young Dolph’s Murder • Young Dolph walked into Makeda’s Butter Cookies bakery in Memphis around 1pm on November 17. • 2 gunmen in dark hoodies approached his SUV outside the bakery and fired approximately 100 shots, hitting Young Dolph multiple times. • Witnesses reported hearing the gunmen say “We got you now!” before they fled the scene in a white Mercedes Benz. • Young Dolph was pronounced dead at the scene.
